I married my best friend in 1969. After we both graduated from Whitewater, Allen accepted a position in St Paul, MN in 1972. We found and moved into a "hobby" farm in Roberts, WI in 1974. We started a mail order business for Hobby Cards (Baseball, football & hockey) in 1975. We both basically retired in 1992 when Al retired from his job and we wanted to enjoy life. Since then I started a 'new Career' in 2009 when I wanted to work the 2010 Census (after I enjoyed working the 2000 Census) but was talked into working current surveys for the Census Bureau. It is part-time work working out of my home so still have time to play.

School Story

Graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1971 with degree in Marketing & Economics

Hi Rhonda, You and the Reunion committee are awesome! It was a wonderful party and the turnout was unbelievable! Want to especially thank the person who made up the name tags with the student pictures -- they were great! Hard to believe that it has been 50 years since I've seen some of them. The breakfast club sounds like a wonderful idea. I only wish I lived closer to be able to partake. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend.

Hi Melana! Good to see you at the reunion. Wish there was more time to visit with everyone. Loved the pictures you brought, especially the group school picture from Muckey. They sure bring back a lot of memories - more than you can process in a few hours. Would like to somehow get the Muckey girls together once. Sharon and I touched on it Saturday night but we need to follow through! It was a great night!

Hi Julie and Steve! Great to see you Saturday night. It was not enough time and too many distractions to have a good visit and catch up on 50 years. Hope we can stay in touch so we can visit with you when we come to Milwaukee next time. Met some family for breakfast Sunday morning and then drove home. We forgot how long of trip it was--didn't seem that long coming down!! Could be that we are getting old?!

Hi David, I am disappointed that I will not see you at the reunion. I have fond memories of you and Al Andersen in some of my classes. We could always count on you two for a good laugh!

Sue & I became friends through our Fathers who were friends. As life happens, we did not see each other much after high school but kept in touch by letters, usually at Christmas wondering where the year went.    Her 2 children were a lot younger than mine. She became a school social worker for Janesville area where she lived and I believe she worked there 35 years before her health problems prevented her from working. She was inspirational with her fight with several battles with cancer.

The last time I saw Susie was when her family was camping on the Willow River near us. We invited them over for Supper and was enjoying a wonderful conversation after dinner while her children were in the TV room watching "Ghost busters". It was storming out and they made some comment about camping in the tent during storms when all of the sudden lightening hit our house! It knocked out everything connected to the house wiring. We all saw balls of fire in each of the directions we were looking in! Amazingly, we did not have a fire but also didn't have lights and everthing plugged into the electric had to be replaced.   That was the last time she visited with me.  I sure do miss her.

Connie and I go way back to grade school at Muckey School. She lived on the same road, back then it was called Muckey road,  on top of the huge hill in a farm house. I don't believe they farmed but I remember the big red barn by the side of the road. Try as I might, I could never ride my bike up the hill, always had to push it at the end but oh could I get home fast coming down the hill!! We played a lot outside and usually with Becky, her sister. We lost touch after high school so I was glad to be able to see her at the 30th class reunion. Never thought I wouldn't see her at the 50th.
